Love Is In The Air!
I am intrigued by the high level of hype generated around the celebration. If you were not in love, you were made to feel you were missing out a great deal, and you should quickly fall in love with someone, anyone!

Surely, nobody enjoys suffering or wants to suffer. However, if we are to objectively consider the history of Christianity, we would discover that the records show tremendous and lasting pain experienced by professing Christians through the ages. Why then would we expect our Christianity to be pain and trouble free?
So, you don’t have a Nabal in your life? But do you have a Judas or Demas, or a Saul or Absalom? Don’t mind the name. The evils that they perpetrate come from the same source. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Our warfare is against principalities and powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. That is why the Bible says we should put on the whole armour of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
When we let go of our memory of the word, when we engage in other things that divert our attention from the word, when we do this consistently for a while, we tend to drift away from the truths that we knew or used to know and find ourselves forgetting, neglecting and turning away from the things that made us.
Even when we see some discouragement, we will not relent, reminding ourselves that we are not in this alone. His hands carry us, His ears are open to our call. He will answer us, teaching our hands to war and our fingers to fight. The truth is that even before we began, we have overcome! He won the victory for us already. We just have to enforce the victory in His name.

Many emotions run through the survivors’ minds in the early days of a new year. The most common is the excitement and joy of crossing over. The exuberant cries of ‘Happy New Year’ everywhere you go, whether they are known persons or strangers. The joy is worth sharing with everyone who would care to listen. I made it! We made it!
Christmas is over and we begin the countdown to the end of the year. Can you believe it’s only a matter of days before this year is over?
While enjoying the ‘jolly’ season, it would be wise not to throw all caution to the wind. Shopping can be crazy but remember to watch your spending. Merchants can be very enticing with their special offers at this time, both in the shops and on line stores. It’s good to have a list and follow it as strictly as possible. No spontaneous purchases! In fact, as much as possible, stay away from the shops once you finish your legal (list-based) shopping. That way, you can at least try to resist some temptations.
So it was, that Bethlehem awaited the arrival of the Prince of Peace, without knowing what was to come. All of heaven was watching and waiting quietly for the manifestation of the Son of God, the Saviour of the world!
