So Near, Yet So Faraway

Considering that airlines might have to follow the rules of social distancing, how would that affect the ticket prices? Would it be safe to sit in an aircraft for long hours with stale air circulating? What is the risk of infection? Would we feel safe enough to go touring and shopping, sitting on trains, buses and taxis? What about the risk of staying in an hotel room that may not have been disinfected?

Summertime!

For me, this has been a very interesting year because I have been through so many different seasons in the last six months. The pandemic on its own has added a variety of feelings and emotions that have opened my eyes to certain truths I had failed to recognize about myself and the people around me. Talk about a reset!

We’ve Come This Far!

He will bring us out of this wilderness. He will lead us into the promised land. The day will come when we will look back at 2020 and we will marvel at what the Lord did in our lives and in the world as a whole. When that time comes, our praises will resound to Him.
In the interim, let us continue to express gratitude, praise and prayer to God, seeking and worshiping Him for the things He has done and for the things He is going to do within, in spite of and through this pandemic.

Life’s Journey, Again

Let us be encouraged, and gird ourselves with the truth of God’s word. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is with us, even through this season, perfecting His plans for our lives and ensuring that His will is being done on the earth, as it is in heaven. When we look to Him, He places us and positions us correctly, and aligns us with what He is doing on the earth and in our lives. We have no control over the events that are unfolding, but we have access to the Almighty One Who has everything under His hands.

The Caterpillar Story

Regardless of where you are at this present time, know that God has you covered. And His intention and plans for you have not changed. He still has everything under His control and His plan is that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. His plan is that you shine. His plan is for you to stand out, doing the works that He planned for you to do before He sent you on the earth (Ephesians 2:10).

The Hourglass

But there is an audience unseen. From the heavens. At the birth of the baby, the hourglass is turned in heaven. The clock starts ticking. The sand is running through to the other side. The countdown has begun.

No one knows how long this baby has to live. At this point, no one really asks. It is assumed that this baby will live long, enjoy life, achieve success, grow and nurture a family and die at a good, ripe old age, leaving children, grandchildren and maybe, greatgrandchildren behind.

I’m Getting Happy!

COVID-19 is still there. Like an irritant that refuses to go away. And there is still only so much I can do, but I am getting something done. I feel such a relief! I thought my life was over. It’s funny how people around me have been going about their normal business. I just couldn’t get myself together. Mind you, I tried. I avoided listening to the news, I kept my conversations positive. And yet.

Perspectives

Imagine what they must have experienced, not knowing when next they were going to travel, and for how long they were traveling. Can you identify with them in these COVID-19 times? I can. I feel their frustrations. I feel their disappointment and distress. They had many questions. Maybe they expected the promised land to be just around the corner from Egypt. And the journey was taking forever! Their eyes were clouded over by what they were going through. So much that they failed to realise that their clothes were growing on them and their shoes did not fall apart.
